Originally introduced in 1978, the Honda Prelude was a sort of sister design to Honda's more famous Accord line. It's design was loosely based on the Accord, but with modifications to cater less towards the Accord's broad target market, and more towards a demographic of casual sports car fetishists. This is immediately apparent in it's marketing, as seen here:
I think that the focus on the cars internality and component parts is a very unique and interesting way to market a car! Often, the angle of specific campaigns for a new model of car will vary regionally to reflect different cultural values and target demographics, but you can see this same strategy consistently in play across different regional markets:
